Quick reminder:

Nominations for the Writer's Digest 101 Best Websites for Writers will close soon. If you'd like to nominate a writing blog then send an email to writersdigest@fwmedia.com (with the subject line: 101 Websites). Include the blog name, URL and reason for nominating.

It's a bit of an involved process so I guess only bother if it's a site you think really deserves it.

What? My post "Lushes, Tweekers, and Nymphos Are People Too" didn't make the list? Unbelievable. ;)

@Holly - these are just the posts on this blog, otherwise I'm sure yours would have made it.

I love checking stats. The one thing I admire about your blog is how you can just stay on target. My mind doesn't allow me to do that. My top searches are a post I wrote on cars followed by another on Van Gogh and then a third on Cthulhu. It's so incredibly random. I think I have A.D.D.

Easily one of the best writing blogs going Mood. You're such a great resource to writers of every level, and I don't say thanks enough. I will Tweet this, however! :-)

Hope the Holidays have been good to you so far, and that the new year brings you much happiness and success.

This is the second or third post of this type I've encountered. Being duly motivated by these coupled with my love of lists and countdowns, I've drafted my own similar post that I'll publish before the end of the year. I really do like seeing which types of articles are showing up on these lists.

mooderino said...

@Arlee - thank you.

@Jeff - I found it was mostly 'story openings' here, about 'how to develop characters' over on my tumblr. The content on both sites is the same, but the average age over there is about half what it is here. Not sure if that's the reason though.

We’ve published roughly 500 articles in 2019. What follows is our annual list of the 25 most popular based on the number of page views.

Articles related to search engine optimization remain, collectively, the most read. Other leading topics include Google Ads, social media, content marketing, analytics and data, Amazon, and platform and infrastructure issues.

It’s worth noting that many of our articles identify early trends or practices that eventually gain wider traction. Those pieces may not be popular initially. But come 2020 or 2021 they could be.

Remember, too, that articles published earlier in the year are more likely to be on the list than later ones.

None of the articles are possible without our talented contributors, all seasoned ecommerce pros. Heading into our 15th year, we are honored to publish their work.
